How does Anti-wrinkle injections / antiwrinke treatment work?
This neurotoxin works by relaxing our muscles in order to soften our lines. When we raise our eyebrows, frown, smile and squint our muscles contract. When Anti-wrinkle injections is injected into these areas it dampens the signals which causes our muscles to contract. Resulting in softening and relaxing our dynamic lines.
What is a brow lift?
Due to aging the skin below our brow can sag making our eyes look smaller and tired. As a result it can be more difficult to place eyeshadow which is a common complaint. We have a muscle around our eye which when we squint pulls the eyebrow downwards. When Anti-wrinkle injections is injected below the brow it has the opposite effect and lifts the brow.
There are different types of brow lifts tailored for each patients request, such a horizontal brow, an arched brow or a raise of the tail of the brow.
What are the side effects of anti-wrinkle treatment?
While side affects are rare they can happen as with any drug. The most common side effects are redness, swelling straight after the anti-wrinkle treatment injection and usually lasts up to 20-30 mins after. Bruising can occur but it is infrequent. Rare side effects are headaches, allergic reactions, temporary eyebrow or eyelid droop.
Will my skin go back to normal after anti-wrinkle treatment?
Yes, your skin will return to normal. In fact after anti-wrinkle treatment, the more often you get it done, your lines will have softened. Anti-wrinkle treatment is a preventative treatment causing existing lines to soften, preventing them getting deeper.
Why couldn't I get Anti-wrinkle injections?
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding or on certain antibiotics Anti-wrinkle injections will not be carried out on you. Certain medical conditions such as Eaton lambert Syndrome and connective tissue disorders. A thorough medical history form will be completed to ensure this treatment is safe for you.
